Statewide Knowledge Implementation Plan: The SKIP Work Group
The Consortium and IDPH have been working together to develop an ongoing work group to support the use of Evidence-Based Practices in Iowa's substance abuse treatment facilities.
There are common components to the definitions of Evidence-Based Practice, but not all are in the agreement as to what needs to be part of how we define evidence-based work for substance abuse treatment.
Iowa's first Statewide Knowledge Implementation of Evidence-Based Practice was initiated in early 2003. There was statewide resource support for Motivational Interviewing training, an identified evidence-based practice.
